Jain and Hindu Organ Donation Alliance is delighted with the support of the community for the #LeaveThemCertain organ donation campaign.
Through this film, well-known community volunteer and activist, Nituben Shah and her extended family, explain the importance of choosing to register to donate your organs and having a discussion with your family.
Although the organ donation law in England changed in May 2020, we still have a choice and close family members will continue to be involved in organ donation decisions. They can, and sometimes do override a person’s decision/wishes.
Nituben said: “I think it is very important for families to know each other’s organ donation wishes so they these can be respected should the time come for any of us to be able to do this sewa. My family and I encourage everyone to ‘have the conversation’ and leave your loved ones certain of your wishes.”
